The Education Trust of Alaska was established under the Alaska College Savings Act. It authorizes the University of Alaska, through its Board of Regents, to serve as Trustee. The Trust offers three separately marketed 529 college savings plans: The University of Alaska College Savings Plan, marketed directly to investors within Alaska; The T. Rowe Price College Savings Plan, nationally marketed directly to investors; and John Hancock Freedom 529, nationally marketed through financial consultants. Visit alaska.edu/finance for the Education Trust of Alaska Governance and Investment Policy.

The Trust was established on April 20, 2001, with a Declaration detailing the duties and responsibilities of the Trustee. The Declaration was amended and restated effective January 1, 2002.

University of Alaska and T. Rowe Price.

The University of Alaska created the UA College Savings Plan to help our children realize their goals.

To manage the Plan's investments, we chose T. Rowe Price Associates of Baltimore, MD. Founded in 1937, T. Rowe Price is a global investment management firm pursuing long-term success on behalf of individual and institutional investors. We felt that T. Rowe Price's investment philosophy would best serve Alaskan families for several reasons:

Expert Approach. When you're investing for something as important as a child's education, you want to work with a company you can trust. T. Rowe Price has more than 80 years of experience devoted to investment management and is recognized as a leader in no-load mutual funds.

Experienced management. The average experience of a T. Rowe Price fund manager is 17 years*. So T. Rowe Price has a patient, long-term perspective on investing.

Independent research. T. Rowe Price believes that fundamental, proprietary research drives value-added, active management. To put this belief into practice, T. Rowe Price maintains a powerful global research platform that includes interconnected teams of research analysts.
